I've come to terms that I will never look good in jeans and I am not sure I'm totally okay with that. I haven't met a bigger denim hater than myself. I think my blog should be renamed the Dadou Hates Denim. A bunch of my blog posts are all about my expressing how I am not a fan of the most popular item in american fashion. Whenever I hear jeans, I think casual and I don't like looking casual. The fact that most jeans look weird or fit me awkward make it even easier for me to dislike them. I still love a good white pair of denim. I think they are more forgiving.
This year, I've decided to give away pretty much all my jeans and keep a white pair. I am finally breaking up with denim. Even growing up, I never quite wore denim because they always look ill fitting on me. I guess that's why I've always wanted to be a designer so I can make clothes that accommodate my body shape. I think I'm square shape with with a proportioned torso but I have quite large bust which takes up most of my upper body. Sometimes people think just because you're skinny everything is a breeze. It really isn't. We're all shape uniquely and we all have our body hang ups. I've tried again and again to like jeans and I don't think it will happen. I've said all this to say that, I've given them enough chances and they've always let me down so it's time to stop trying. Maybe now since I've given up I'll find the perfect pair(one can only hope). I choose to no longer settle for okay fit but the right fit. Our relationship has had a lot of downs, so it's not worth it to continue. I've wasted enough time and money trying to make it work and I've had enough.
Tell me why I just ordered a new pair jeans from Jcrew and I must say they make some of my fav denim styles. We'll see if they make it to the blog or the donation bin.
Update- Headed to the store today to return them, they look terrible on me but so great on the model :(
Thank you for reading,
Xoxo, Rose
