Silk robe coats are chic, practical and can instantly update your look. I bought this silk robe at the Brooklyn flea in DUMBO for $25
and it was definitely one of the best $25 I've spent. If you know me, you know I love silk so much. Any doubt? My brand DadouStudios makes silk camis check us out(which I am also wearing with this look). I basically live in this robe when I am home. It's so cosy and so luxe, no wonder I've been taking it out.
The weather is perfect to wear a silk robe, it's not cold enough for a jacket and not warm enough to bare arms. So, a silk cami paired with this silk robe and culottes is the perfect combination.Make sure you you're following me on Instagram if you want to see more of this robe.
I wore this look to #STEELEVAIN a lovely brunch hosted by my lovely friends Monroe from FashionSteeleNYC and Vanessa from VanaVain. STEELEVAIN was an intimate brunch which happened during New York Fashion Week to celebrate unapologetic trailblazing women in fashion, beauty and the arts(Monroe). I must say It was incredible being in the presence of so many beautiful, talented women. As women & women of color might I add, we don't celebrate each other enough. This brunch reminded me of how powerful we can be when we come together to commemorate each other and share our talents. Celebrating others does not take away from our own shine or accomplishments, if anything it adds to it. When we celebrate others, we are in fact celebrating ourselves. We are all connected and whatever we do to others we do to ourselves. It's time for us to let go of living in lack, competition, hatred, and fear. It's time that we come together, help each other, love, celebrate one another. I want to take this moment to say thank you to Monroe and Vanessa for hosting such a beautiful brunch and choosing me to be the photographer.
Brunch was held at MamannNYC in Soho. Sponsored by SheaMoisture & HUE
